2021 Estate Pinot Noir Reserve

“A pleasing wine that smells of toasted marshmallow, graham cracker, strawberry jam and campfire. The palate presents a more complex evolution beginning with a mouthful of fruit— cherry and red plum. Mid-palate the plum darkens, revealing currant and baking spice. Marshmallow richness remains with an undertone of bitter dark chocolate through the finish.” – Oregon Wine Press, November 2023

We’re growing grapes on a mix of soil types: volcanic Nekia, loamy Witzel, marine sediment Hazelair, and glacial deposited Steiwer. Our vineyards are at 220-450 feet elevation on a gentle slope, making it one of the earliest ripening sites in the Willamette Valley. These moderately deep, well draining soils are where the journey of vine to bottle begins.

A majority of our estate is Pinot Noir grapes, including clones of Dijon 114, 115, Pommard, and Wädenswil. The first planting of grapes was in 1982, with the first commercial harvest happening in 1985. Our Pinot Gris and Chardonnay grapes were planted in 1994 and our Early Muscat grapes were planted in 2005.
